For Opal

Dearest Family and Friends,
As 2009 comes to an end, we have many blessings to be thankful for. It gives us time to reflect on all that has occurred in our family. Our children are as always moving forward in their different pursuits in life.
We are happy to report that Jon, Emilie, and little Miss Aubrey are progressing on their home in Woodridge. It is looking great! They have put so much work into their house and we are proud of them. Jon is working and enjoying his job and Emilie is continuing her education at Governors State University. Aubrey is sweet and Grandma enjoys having her come by while mom is in school. She is a delight and Elisabeth is such a great help with her.
Elisabeth went to Spina Bifida camp this year and had a great time. She is delighted to be a bridesmaid for Rachel. She is working on gaining more independence. This year also finds her dealing with a pressure sore on her heel. We hope to avoid surgery on the heel. Time will tell.
We are excited for Matt and Erin as they finish school at BYU-Idaho. Matt is looking for an IT job if any of you need a wonderful employee. Matt and Erin are also expecting our second grandchild in February. We love being grandparents and look forward to welcoming this special granddaughter into our family.
January brings with it the wedding of our daughter Rachel. We are thrilled that she will be married and sealed in the Chicago Temple on the 9th. We look forward to sharing this special moment with her and her fiancé Ben Allen.
It has been an exciting year for us as well. We decided to buy a home instead of renting. We finally settled on building a home in Minooka, Illinois. It was an interesting summer as the process of building a home began. We visited the site often so that Stephanie could document the progress of the construction. This was all new to us since we did not expect to build a home. It has been a wonderful experience and we were able to move in on October 23rd. We really like the home but, forgot how much work it is to move. We are grateful to our friends who helped us in our move. We will miss our branch in Frankfort, but we have been welcomed warmly in to the Morris Ward.
We share with each of you the joy of this season as we remember the reason for this Christmas season. We rejoice as a family, giving thanks for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We feel extremely blessed to be able to have our family with us during this time of year. Stephanie and I express our gratitude for all of the changes and blessings that the gospel offers to all of God’s children.
We want to wish each of you the blessings of the season and hope that during this time that each of you will share with your family and friends the blessings of this year. May the lord bless each of you and your families as we celebrate the reason for this season even the Lord Jesus Christ. We think of each of you often and wish for each of you a very Merry Christmas and the blessings of the New Year.
